Catholic Charities is a leading provider of social services to people of all ages, races and faiths. Each year, more than 200,000 people of all faiths come to Catholic Charities in need of assistance. The goal is to offer help and hope, and to move the client from a situation of poverty and anxiety to one of self-sufficiency and stability. This is done by providing a broad range of health and social programs, including:
Emergency Assistance: housing, employment, utility assistance, food.
Support for Children and Families: Adoption and services for pregnant women, teen parent support, foster care, Mother to Mother mentoring, early care and education for children including some with special needs, and Senior care and support.
Health Care Services and Mental Health Counseling: Home health care, nursing care for infants and children in their home providing early health care intervention and education for new parents from low-income areas, hospice, and professional counseling to families and individuals. Quality of life is preserved by restoring the patient's dignity, choices and control.
